Charlie's dance teacher invited parents to come watch their class this past Wednesday. Charlie had a large showing including Mom and Dad, Grandmama, Susana and Uncle Michael. Unfortunately Charlie had the smallest performance. She preferred to sit in my lap and watch the class like everyone else. In her defense she is the youngest member of the group and the only one who does not attend day care (that and maybe the fact her cousin was here)!! It was still good to see what they do in class, and her teacher assured me that Charlie fully participates every week. They were all so cute, I wish the classroom had a two way mirror so I could see little Charlie sashaying across the room. Anyway Mrs. Jessica convinced Charlie to dance for a second with the wand, and that was about it. After class we went home and the two ate lunch and played for a little while before they headed home. It was a fun day, Charlie just wishes Susana lived in Charleston.

Charlie at the aquarium

Charlie asked me if we could go to the fish museum the other day. I did not realize she didn't know what it was called, but I thought how resourceful to call it the fish museum. After teaching her that it is usually referred to as the aquarium (pronounced aqa~warium...Close enough) we took a trip downtown. She had a good time, she pretty much had run of the place so she watched the giant turtle a lot and tried to make out with the alligator (she always tries to kiss it, I don't know why. As you can see in the bottom picture I have taught her to blow the alligator a kiss.) Anyway, we stopped in the gift shop for the first time ever and of course I bought her something, a little rubber frog that lights up. Outside of the museum there are big frog statutes scattered around. One sits on a bench and you can sit next to it. When we were leaving Charlie asked where the froggy's daddy was and I told her I did not know. She pointed to the big frog and said "right there mommy" (in Charlie's world anything that is big is a daddy and anything that is little is a baby. Mommys got the shaft!) She wanted to walk over to the frog so I did and when we got there she looked at the frog and said "Here is your baby frog!" She wanted to leave the frog there but, I asked the daddy if Charlie took really good care of the baby if he could come home with us. Fortunately I speak frog and he said yes, otherwise my big purchase of a rubber frog would have been left on the bench with the big daddy frog. After all that was cleared we turned to go home and Charlie said "don't be sad daddy frog, I will take good care of the baby frog!!"
