First off, I know I have not been keeping up with the blog very much lately, but I promise to post pics this week. I have been swamped with photography and the last thing I feel like doing is anything having to do with photography. I am finishing up with my last client before Christmas and I have told people that I will not do any more pics in December, so maybe by the end of the week I will have my pics up! I did want to post something funny Camden did today...
I remember Leslie telling a story similar to this one when Will was small and I laughed so hard when I read it. I laughed even harder when it was my kid!!! As most of you know Camden is a big eater. She loves all food and loves to eat all the time. In her spare time, she crawls to the pantry gets what ever she can grab... cereal, crackers, raw noodles, it does not matter she will eat it. Anyway, we went to the Children's Museum today and they have a grocery store. It is a miniature store with real boxes of stuff. Camden got a buggy and walked around and I did not think anything of it. She rushed towards the section of cereal and grabbed a box. She sat on the floor and proceeded to open it. When she could not she got very mad and handed me the box to do something about it. Then she saw the bananas and tried to eat them. Then the bread, and the oatmeal, and the juice boxes. All I have to say is I had to feed her lunch to avoid any major meltdowns!!!! Wish I had the video camera.

Not to be out done by Camden, Charlie has a funny story too...we were wrapping Christmas presents together. I went to cut the paper by running my scissors down the paper. I had a little trouble (I have cheap paper this year...budget cuts!) and Charlie said "Mommy, you should get the gift wrap cutter. It is faster and safer than scissors." OK????? I think it's time to cut out the TV.

I am back

I have been out of the blogger world for a little while. We have had a very hectic month. We look forward to some happier times spending the holidays with family.
Congratulations to YaYa and Patrick on the birth of their little boy, Dalton. We can't wait to meet him and he could not have come into the world at a better time.

I am sad to say that we lost another family member last week. Papoo (Carson's grandfather) passed away at 95. He was very involved with all his grandchildren and great grandchildren (he has 6 and the 7th was born the day after his funeral). He was the biggest Clemson fan I know and a devoted Republican, but somehow he managed to accept me even if I was a Democratic Gamecock. He will be greatly missed by all.

Camden's Birthday Party

We had a few family and friends (along with the worlds largest cake ~ the girl grossly miscalculated the serving! Good thing I like cake) over to celebrate Camden's first birthday. She loves to climb in and out of chairs and got one of her own as a gift, along with many other things. She did not take her morning nap (I tried HARD) so by the time she got the to cake she was half asleep. We did manage to get her to dig in a little. Anyway, here are a lot of pics from the day.

Charlie wanted to wish Camden a happy birthday and say that Camden is the best little sister ever (she insisted on typing it!!!) We love you very much and hope you have a wonderful first birthday!!!

The girls had a fun Halloween. Charlie wanted to be a pink witch and I got lucky and found a cute costume with some pink in it. After we made the decision on her costume we thought that it would be cute for Camden to be her cat. Susana and some friends came over for trick or treating. The amazingly gave it up after about an hour. I figured they would want to go all night. It was a fun night!

Our trip to Asheville

As I mentioned before Carson, Charlie and I took a trip to Asheville a couple weeks back. Charlie had been wanting to go camping so I scheduled an impulsive trip. I did decide that it was a little to cold for actual camping so we rented a little (and I mean little) one room cabin in the woods ~ well the website said woods, but it was more like in between 2 major roads with some trees mixed in (whatever, it was just a place to sleep). We had no expectations for this trip, just to have fun and see all the beautiful scenery...of course things did not play out how I had hoped. We had planned on leaving Wed. afternoon to spend the night in Columbia. That way we could get up early Thursday and spend most of the day in Asheville. After the car was packed and we were getting the kids ready to go, Camden projectile vomited on Carson. We decided we better stay home and see how the night went. She made it though with no throwing up (although definitely sick), so we decide to take her to grandma's and take our chances. So hoping to get to Asheville by 10:00 we got there around 4:00. We checked into our "cabin" and drove to the Blue Ridge Parkway. (Side note for the pictures ~ For those of you who are not familiar with Charlie's hair, she has this one section in the back that is determined to become a dread lock. If she lays on it or in this case sits in the car to long it starts to form. After 5 hours of road tripping I did not feel like finding the brush. Also it was colder that I thought it would be so I just grabbed what ever to cover her up...this explaining her outfit and hair situation!! Although I will say she seemed to blend in nicely with some of the locals) Anyway, a section of the Parkway was closed so we walked it and it was beautiful. Of course after we did all that Charlie asked when we were going to hike up the mountain. She was under the impression that we were going to actually rock climb up the mountain. And that was the end of the trip I was hoping for. On Saturday it rained...all day. We spent 4 hours in an indoor amusement park called Fun Depot. It was fun for me for about an hour. The other 3 I could have done without. Charlie loved it and this was a trip for her, so all was not lost. After that she fell asleep in the car so Carson and I decided to drive around the Parkway with the guidance of the GPS. Of course it was so cloudy that we could not see the road in front of us. Carson and I just pretended that we were seeing all the amazing overlooks! We decided to get some coffee so we let the GPS (or "her" as Charlie calls it) lead the way. Way out of the way, but she got us there. Somewhere in the middle of the winds and bends Charlie woke up and said "where is this lady taking us?"

While we were there we saw Tom, Sherri and all their kids which was great. All in all it was a good trip. Mom nursed Camden back to health (she did throw up some more ~ thanks mom!!) and we got to spend some quality time with Charlie. It was fun learning about Asheville and next time hopefully we will be able to spend more time outside. And of course I did not make it into one single picture.
