Charlie is 2!!!!!

As most of you know, Carson and I have been without a computer for over a week now. What bad timing being Charlie's birhday and all. I have had to sneak a little time on other peoples computers here and there, but I have not had a cnance to get pictures downloaded onto the site. I will work on that so everybody can see all the events the week of Charlie's b-day. Anyway, Charlie had a great week. We took her to see fireworks on the 4th and she like that. Although she prefered them from a far. She called them firetrucks, and we told her they were fireworks, not firetrucks...so for most of the ride home she would say "I see not firetrucks again!" Carson took Thursday off, and we took her to the Aquarium for the first time. She loved it! Fish, fish everywhere. Then on Saturday we had a small family party at the lake and she got lots of fun stuff. One of which was a pink tutu that she wore the rest of the afternoon. Somewhere along the way the girl that I thought would be a tomboy turned into a little girly girl. I am not sure what that is. (She puts more makeup on than I do!!) It was one busy week for our growing little girl. I have always heard that time goes by fast, it is just now that I believe it. Thanks to everyone for making the first two years of her life great ones. She/we are lucky to have so many people who love her.
I will try to get pictures up this week.

I promise next entry there will be a picture of Charlie!

OK, so Carson and I have been "introducing" the potty to Charlie (or polly as Charlie calls it) for a couple of weeks now and it is going good by my standards. Even though I know Erin will point out that I love to share pictures of Charlie while she is naked, I have decided that I will keep her bathroom anonymity and not show the pics of her reading on her potty. I believe that there are some things that are only cute if it is your kid (they are pretty funny...I will take requests for private viewings for any who are interested!!!)
Anyway, the point of this entry...Charlie is always eager to share with "others" what she knows. No baby or stuffed animal is left unfed, thirsty, without a new diaper or boo-boo unbandaged etc. Our mini momma is on top of it (one of the baby's even got diaper cream yesterday, that was a first.) I don't know why, but it never occurred to me that they would also get potty trained as well. Although I have decided to keep Charlie's pictures private, I will be glad to show you all the progress that Charlie has made with her baby doll...

Unfortunately this baby is not particularly fond of the water and now cries when you put the bottle in her mouth and sucks out of her foot. FYI, we have not actually put Charlie in the potty...

not yet anyway!!!

Funny story...

I will admit I have been a lot more slack than I thought I would be with this blog page thing. House Hunting is a lot harder than I thought it would be, and seems to have become some sort of addiction. Apparently I can only handle one situation at a time. So, I decided today that I will only house hunt one hour a day and get back to normal.

This will be the only entry so far that is not accompanied by a picture. Which is sad, because today Carson and I took Charlie to the park and there were a million cute Father's Day photo op's and I forgot the camera.
Anyway, Charlie does funny stuff every hour, as most two year olds do, but the other day she did something that I thought was especially funny and have decided to share it with all of you. I will try to tell the condensed version...

Charlie has seen me put my contacts in several times and every time she sees me do it she imitates it. We went to Costco and I picked up another box of contacts and put them in the bottom of the buggy. On the way to the car Charlie saw the box in the buggy and said "have it" and proceeded to stick her little hand through the bars of the buggy and pull it out. She was holding the box with one hand and my hand with the other as she was intensely studding the box. She finally held it up and said "what's that mommy?" I said "it's mommy's contacts." Next thing, I look down and Charlie had the box smashed up against her eye. She did that the whole way home. It was so funny (almost as funny as Will Kirk getting mad that the food was fake!!!) ... I sure hope you all got the visual.

I'm throwing this in too ~ Can you all believe Charlie is almost TWO!!!! Even though I have been referring to her as being two for months now.

I get wet! I get cold!! I get wet! I get cold!!

Charlie got to play in the sprinkler for the first time yesterday. It took me running through it a few times and holding her hand, but once she warmed up to it she loved it. Every time she would run through she would yell "I get wet! I get cold!" We were out there for a few hours, and for hours she said "I get wet, I get cold." I forgot how fun it is to run through a sprinkler ( and how wet and cold it is!!!!)

"I go savimmy poo"

Charlie has almost graduated from her first swimming lessons...what a big girl!!

How a 2 year old brushes her teeth...

Step One: Squeeze toothpaste directly into mouth (much easier than putting it on the toothbrush)
Step Two: Brush for approximately 20 minutes
Step Three: Repeat whole process
Step Four: Spit! ...no where near the sink
Step Five: Pull out 45 feet of floss and watch mommy wind most of it back up (not pictured for obvious reasons)
Step Six: Concentrate very hard (this is much easier with your tongue hanging out) and wrap floss around finger
Step Seven: Give up on step six
Step Eight: Floss same two teeth for approximately 10 minutes
Step Nine: Check oneself out
Step Ten: Try to talk mommy into doing all again!!!

Let me help you...NO mommy, Carlie can do it!! OK

Charlie's new house

Went to Lowes for some flowers...bought a house!!!

Have you laughed today?

It takes about 20 minutes to go through the process to record something, so I caught the tail end of this laughing spree. If you ever ask me what I love the most about having a daughter (and niece and nephew and "cousins") ~ the answer is hearing them laugh.
If you listen all the way to the end, she see's the phone for the first time. Just in case you don't understand Charlie lingo, if she wants something she says "have it."

Such a big girl!

Today I decided that Charlie was coordinated enough to eat cereal and milk together! She loved it! I have never seen her shovel food in her mouth so fast, of coarse most of it came out, but she finally got the hang of one bite at a time. After she finished most of the cereal I got to show her one of the greatest aspects of eating cereal, drinking the milk out of the bowl. She was so excited and did so well, and then she saw it..some idiot decided it would be a good idea to put a picture on the bottom of the bowl. I wonder why my kid always wants to dump her food out, now I know. (That last picture is the "discovery" if you can't tell!!) She could not get the milk out fast enough. She tried to drink it, but then remembered it is always faster to dump it out on the floor. Thank goodness I have a dog, even though I am slowing killing him through Charlie (he has gained 10 pounds since she started eating.) Anyway, I would like to personally that the MAN who did this, and while I am at it, the one who put pictures on the bottom of shoes. Charlie likes to sit down and look at the octopus on the bottom of her new pair shoes rather than walk in them. So, all you newer moms who's children have not started to eat yet...don't buy plates and bowls with pictures in the bottom, it just makes a mess!

Did you miss us?

OK Folks we are back in business! For those of you who did not know, Charlie was a little under the weather last week. As you know her teeth were coming in, but on top of that the poor thing had a sore throat. They tested her for strep but thankfully it was just a virus. (That will be the only time I say thank you for a virus!) Anyway, as much as I LOVE spending every waking moment with Charlie (and sleeping moment for that matter) it is nice to have a little free time. And for any of you who are curious if we will have another child...not after last week. I value my sleep, and sanity. ~ Charlie insisted on picking out and putting her shoes on. About 20 minutes later she had one brown shoe on and one white! I look forward to the days when she wants to dress herself and actually go out in public. I am going to go ahead and have a shirt made for myself that says "my child picked out what she is wearing today!" While I am at it, I should probably get a shirt that says "My child picked out what I am wearing today!" Then I would have a good excuse for why I looked like I got dressed in the dark everyday! Ahh...the joys of motherhood, well that is my excuse for now.
