I get wet! I get cold!! I get wet! I get cold!!

Charlie got to play in the sprinkler for the first time yesterday. It took me running through it a few times and holding her hand, but once she warmed up to it she loved it. Every time she would run through she would yell "I get wet! I get cold!" We were out there for a few hours, and for hours she said "I get wet, I get cold." I forgot how fun it is to run through a sprinkler ( and how wet and cold it is!!!!)

"I go savimmy poo"

Charlie has almost graduated from her first swimming lessons...what a big girl!!

How a 2 year old brushes her teeth...

Step One: Squeeze toothpaste directly into mouth (much easier than putting it on the toothbrush)
Step Two: Brush for approximately 20 minutes
Step Three: Repeat whole process
Step Four: Spit! ...no where near the sink
Step Five: Pull out 45 feet of floss and watch mommy wind most of it back up (not pictured for obvious reasons)
Step Six: Concentrate very hard (this is much easier with your tongue hanging out) and wrap floss around finger
Step Seven: Give up on step six
Step Eight: Floss same two teeth for approximately 10 minutes
Step Nine: Check oneself out
Step Ten: Try to talk mommy into doing all again!!!

Let me help you...NO mommy, Carlie can do it!! OK

Charlie's new house

Went to Lowes for some flowers...bought a house!!!

Have you laughed today?

It takes about 20 minutes to go through the process to record something, so I caught the tail end of this laughing spree. If you ever ask me what I love the most about having a daughter (and niece and nephew and "cousins") ~ the answer is hearing them laugh.
If you listen all the way to the end, she see's the phone for the first time. Just in case you don't understand Charlie lingo, if she wants something she says "have it."

Such a big girl!

Today I decided that Charlie was coordinated enough to eat cereal and milk together! She loved it! I have never seen her shovel food in her mouth so fast, of coarse most of it came out, but she finally got the hang of one bite at a time. After she finished most of the cereal I got to show her one of the greatest aspects of eating cereal, drinking the milk out of the bowl. She was so excited and did so well, and then she saw it..some idiot decided it would be a good idea to put a picture on the bottom of the bowl. I wonder why my kid always wants to dump her food out, now I know. (That last picture is the "discovery" if you can't tell!!) She could not get the milk out fast enough. She tried to drink it, but then remembered it is always faster to dump it out on the floor. Thank goodness I have a dog, even though I am slowing killing him through Charlie (he has gained 10 pounds since she started eating.) Anyway, I would like to personally that the MAN who did this, and while I am at it, the one who put pictures on the bottom of shoes. Charlie likes to sit down and look at the octopus on the bottom of her new pair shoes rather than walk in them. So, all you newer moms who's children have not started to eat yet...don't buy plates and bowls with pictures in the bottom, it just makes a mess!

Did you miss us?

OK Folks we are back in business! For those of you who did not know, Charlie was a little under the weather last week. As you know her teeth were coming in, but on top of that the poor thing had a sore throat. They tested her for strep but thankfully it was just a virus. (That will be the only time I say thank you for a virus!) Anyway, as much as I LOVE spending every waking moment with Charlie (and sleeping moment for that matter) it is nice to have a little free time. And for any of you who are curious if we will have another child...not after last week. I value my sleep, and sanity. ~ Charlie insisted on picking out and putting her shoes on. About 20 minutes later she had one brown shoe on and one white! I look forward to the days when she wants to dress herself and actually go out in public. I am going to go ahead and have a shirt made for myself that says "my child picked out what she is wearing today!" While I am at it, I should probably get a shirt that says "My child picked out what I am wearing today!" Then I would have a good excuse for why I looked like I got dressed in the dark everyday! Ahh...the joys of motherhood, well that is my excuse for now.

Now, listen again.

For all you tiger fans...sorry, but that is "I love Gamecocks!" (Although Charlie seems to "Love" everything so I don't know how much power that holds!!!)

Fun in the Sun!

If you can't tell from the pictures, Charlie had a good time. Although trips to the beach have taken a whole new meaning, Carson and I had a lot of fun chasing after her. Silly us, we laid towels on the beach...lay out ~ what were we thinking! However, the giant puddles slowed her down somewhat. We have to make sure we always plan our trip during low tide. I look forward to many more afternoons on the beach. I may have no choice ~ all she has said since we left is "Go beach mama, go beach!"

My Little Picasso!

I just want to know when she learned how to hold a marker? She is so smart. So that all looks like it is under control, right! Wrong...two seconds later her art was all over the table, the refrigerator and herself and she did all of that in about two seconds. Thank goodness for washable markers!!!

Moms always get the shaft

Well it is official, I am addicted to this. Anyway, you have to listen to today's audio to understand the title.

Thanks Aunt Phoebe for the introduction to YoBaby Yogurt! It is the only thing Charlie will sit down to eat start to finish...and for that matter the only thing she WILL finish!

These things HURT!

Can you see them mom??? Can I close my mouth now or what...
Charlie's 2 year molars are coming in. (Although I must confess Carson and I have been making her pose like this for almost a year now just because we think it is funny.) I don't know who is more pain, Charlie or me...ah, how I love getting up at 3 am. Poor thing she is asleep on the couch now. Let us all say a quick prayer that all 4 come in at once and it is done by this weekend.

In other news, just in case you have not made it into society today, Tomkat had their baby and it is a girl. Yipee! Now let's hope they GO AWAY for a while. Enough already. I'll be honest, I am secretly hoping she gets a good case of the baby blues, so ol' Tommy boy can eat his words.

And if you have not figured it out yet, the latest entries go first. So, if you are a die hard Charlie fan...scroll down just in case you missed something!

Welcome to Charlie's blog page!!

I hope you all enjoy this one picture, because it took me about 4O hours to figure out how to do this. Hopefully I will get better as time goes on, otherwise don't expect another update until she is six. ~ This was Charlie on Easter Sunday. She spent most of the morning running around her grandparents yard while I chased her down trying to take pictures. All I had to do for this picture was cement her feet to the ground and super glue her nose to the flower, but it was worth it. Charlie also enjoyed discovering chocolate. I laid her on her changing table yesterday and asked her if she loved mommy, she looked at me and said "I love cocky" (aka chocolate unless she really is her mamma's girl and has decided to be a Gamecock). Anyway, I hope you all enjoy the updates on our little ball of energy. If anybody needs to loose a little weight come down and take Charlie to the beach!!
