Got milk!!!

Look at my nephew! Too bad we don't have a picture of his daddy, because I am sure it looks about the same. Sorry Mimi, I had to steal this from your page and share it with all my friends!!!! And I am just going to assume you took your one year old son to Hooters JUST to taste their wings...they are really good.
(PS Be sure to put you cursor over the picture and click on it to make it big, so you can get the full effect!)

Carson apparently has Charlie confused with the Fonz! I will admit it is fun to teach them things out of character, but husbands always seem to take it to the extreme. For example, doing "thumbs up" every given moment, teaching (her) how to run around like the kid in The Shining saying "Red Rum"...always appropriate in the grocery store, or teaching them how to say they are going to be a horticulturist when they grow up (will give credit to Uncle Michael and Susana for that one!!) My personal favorite..."Charlie, what does a tiger say?" "Roar" What does a dog say?" "Woof" "what does a kitty cat say?" "Meow" "And what does Mommy say?" "Aw Man!!" Leave it to us moms to raise sweet little girls (or boys for most of my friends) and leave it to dads to turn them into...well, the pictures above!!!

"Making" Banana Pancakes!

Charlie has become such the little "helper" theses past few months. Now, if only helping included a whisk instead of little fingers. You can't ask for anything better than this on a Sunday morning!!

So if my kid comes up to you and says "yo, what up homey!"...blame her father!
(Good thing I forgot my camera this weekend, we may have ended up with 500 pictures instead of the mere 450!!! OK so, more like 700 pictures)

What a big girl.

Charlie takes after her daddy! Our Little Dare Devil! Gabby just hopes she does not decide to jump out of airplanes next!!! This came off of Fischer's Blog page and it was the first time I saw it. (Good thing for Mimi I did not see it in person...I may have yelled at her to put her hands back on the handle!!! I get Fischer next year:)!) Thanks for the pictures!!!

I think we can all agree that I have a pretty hard job. Most of our days are spent at the water park, beach, pool, museum or park. Daddy finally got to see Charlie in action today and he thinks he will quite work and start hanging out with us. And I just realized that I referred to Carson as Daddy...another part of the job is ALWAYS talking in third person. When Charlie was an infant I read in several books and articles that you were to always suppose to do that (I can't remember why), but they failed to mention that you would have a ridiculously hard time trying to talk normal again. Anyway, this was suppose to just be about Charlie's day in the water. This place really makes my job easy. It is the one place that slows Charlie down. And for any of you who have been around her lately, that is not an easy thing to do. We are so close to her swimming on her own. A few more weeks and I think she may have it. This place was well worth the $50 unlimited pass!!!!!!!!

Daddy's little helper!

This proves my point that my child is a perfect mix of girly girl and tomboy!! We went from onesies everyday to mowing the lawn in a smocked dress (her choice)!!!!!!!!!!!!

Singing in the rain!

Charlie is a huge fan of playing in the sprinkler...well, more like a huge fan of making me cut it on and then running in it twice and crying when I cut it off. So the other day when it was raining and she wanted to go outside I thought "free water!!" (Don't worry Poppie there was no thunder or lighting in sight) We played outside for half an hour and I highly recomend everyone play in the rain the next time they get a chance!!! Our fun was cut short by the LOUDEST thunder I have ever heard. Charlie was running when it hit and I have never seen her stop in her tracks faster or scream "MOMMY" as loud as she did that day. I have to admit I have never dropped an umbrella faster than that day!! I decided getting struck by lighting would cut our fun short, so we went inside. And for once, Charlie did not argue that we were going inside.
Well, Charlie is up from her nap and we are off to the water park...do you all see a theme in my child's life? My little water baby.

Charlie is 2!!!!!

As most of you know, Carson and I have been without a computer for over a week now. What bad timing being Charlie's birhday and all. I have had to sneak a little time on other peoples computers here and there, but I have not had a cnance to get pictures downloaded onto the site. I will work on that so everybody can see all the events the week of Charlie's b-day. Anyway, Charlie had a great week. We took her to see fireworks on the 4th and she like that. Although she prefered them from a far. She called them firetrucks, and we told her they were fireworks, not firetrucks...so for most of the ride home she would say "I see not firetrucks again!" Carson took Thursday off, and we took her to the Aquarium for the first time. She loved it! Fish, fish everywhere. Then on Saturday we had a small family party at the lake and she got lots of fun stuff. One of which was a pink tutu that she wore the rest of the afternoon. Somewhere along the way the girl that I thought would be a tomboy turned into a little girly girl. I am not sure what that is. (She puts more makeup on than I do!!) It was one busy week for our growing little girl. I have always heard that time goes by fast, it is just now that I believe it. Thanks to everyone for making the first two years of her life great ones. She/we are lucky to have so many people who love her.
I will try to get pictures up this week.

I promise next entry there will be a picture of Charlie!

OK, so Carson and I have been "introducing" the potty to Charlie (or polly as Charlie calls it) for a couple of weeks now and it is going good by my standards. Even though I know Erin will point out that I love to share pictures of Charlie while she is naked, I have decided that I will keep her bathroom anonymity and not show the pics of her reading on her potty. I believe that there are some things that are only cute if it is your kid (they are pretty funny...I will take requests for private viewings for any who are interested!!!)
Anyway, the point of this entry...Charlie is always eager to share with "others" what she knows. No baby or stuffed animal is left unfed, thirsty, without a new diaper or boo-boo unbandaged etc. Our mini momma is on top of it (one of the baby's even got diaper cream yesterday, that was a first.) I don't know why, but it never occurred to me that they would also get potty trained as well. Although I have decided to keep Charlie's pictures private, I will be glad to show you all the progress that Charlie has made with her baby doll...

Unfortunately this baby is not particularly fond of the water and now cries when you put the bottle in her mouth and sucks out of her foot. FYI, we have not actually put Charlie in the potty...

not yet anyway!!!

Funny story...

I will admit I have been a lot more slack than I thought I would be with this blog page thing. House Hunting is a lot harder than I thought it would be, and seems to have become some sort of addiction. Apparently I can only handle one situation at a time. So, I decided today that I will only house hunt one hour a day and get back to normal.

This will be the only entry so far that is not accompanied by a picture. Which is sad, because today Carson and I took Charlie to the park and there were a million cute Father's Day photo op's and I forgot the camera.
Anyway, Charlie does funny stuff every hour, as most two year olds do, but the other day she did something that I thought was especially funny and have decided to share it with all of you. I will try to tell the condensed version...

Charlie has seen me put my contacts in several times and every time she sees me do it she imitates it. We went to Costco and I picked up another box of contacts and put them in the bottom of the buggy. On the way to the car Charlie saw the box in the buggy and said "have it" and proceeded to stick her little hand through the bars of the buggy and pull it out. She was holding the box with one hand and my hand with the other as she was intensely studding the box. She finally held it up and said "what's that mommy?" I said "it's mommy's contacts." Next thing, I look down and Charlie had the box smashed up against her eye. She did that the whole way home. It was so funny (almost as funny as Will Kirk getting mad that the food was fake!!!) ... I sure hope you all got the visual.

I'm throwing this in too ~ Can you all believe Charlie is almost TWO!!!! Even though I have been referring to her as being two for months now.

What are cousins for...

Lazy days of summer!

Aunt Phoebe...it must be nice to have a child that actually sits on the beach.

I get wet! I get cold!! I get wet! I get cold!!

Charlie got to play in the sprinkler for the first time yesterday. It took me running through it a few times and holding her hand, but once she warmed up to it she loved it. Every time she would run through she would yell "I get wet! I get cold!" We were out there for a few hours, and for hours she said "I get wet, I get cold." I forgot how fun it is to run through a sprinkler ( and how wet and cold it is!!!!)
